UWPD offers resources on campus violence
In the wake of campus shootings in the past year at Virginia Tech, Louisiana Tech and Northern Illinois University, the University of Wisconsin Police Department (UWPD) has developed a set of training resources for faculty and staff.
Update employee contact information through My UW portal
Employee contact information as it is recorded in the payroll system can now be modified online through the My UW–Madison portal. After logging in with your NetID and password at my.wisc.edumy.wisc.edu, click on the Work Record tab and locate the Contact Information module.
Offices receive grant to reduce worker back injuries
The offices of Human Resources (OHR) and Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) recently received a grant from the state Department of Administration’s Division of Risk Management for initiatives designed to decrease back injuries among UW–Madison custodians. Back injuries are the largest category of custodial injuries on campus.
Greenbush Day celebration set
In March 2007, more than 300 people turned out for a first-time event honoring one of Madison’s most culturally diverse and historic neighborhoods. The second Greenbush Day celebration will be held from 4–6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, at the university’s Welcome Center, 21 N. Park St.

Collaboration key to Union Theater’s success
Ralph Russo, cultural arts director of the Wisconsin Unions and Union Theater director, says that the magic experienced at the Union Theater is the result of a collaborative process: “We are not an ‘I’ organization; we’re a team. At the theater, students drive the programming and the staff works to support that. This arrangement is unique in higher education. Usually, campus performing arts facilities are not connected to campus/student unions.”
