Recent sightings: They filled the hill
Hundreds of plastic pink flamingos adorn Bascom Hill for the annual "Fill the Hill" event Oct. 7. The event, which is part of the UW's Annual Campaign, places a pink flamingo on Bascom Hill for each donation pledged.

Recent sightings: Paddling pumpkins
In a quirky celebration of the fall harvest, participants paddled on Lake Mendota in massive, hollowed-out pumpkins made buoyant by inflated inner tubes in the annual Hoofer Sailing Club Pumpkin Regatta Oct. 10. The event is organized by UW–Madison horticulture professors Irwin Goldman and Jim Nienhuis.

Badgers, UW–Madison partner on ‘It’s On Us’ campaign
UW–Madison has joined the national “It’s on Us” campaign to stop sexual assault and will showcase an “It’s On Us” video during the Homecoming football game Oct. 17.
