Lakefront Café to open
The former Lakefront Café in Memorial Union should open this spring, totally remodeled and renamed the Lakefront on Langdon.
“It has the same wonderful lake view,” says Laura Pescatore, Wisconsin Union associate marketing specialist, “but it’s a totally different facility.”
On average, a full meal, including beverage will cost $4-$7.
The new restaurant will have four food stations offering fresh, made-to-order entr>=es and salads, plus soup, desserts and a salad bar. One station has a “home hearth” theme with its casseroles, hot carved meats, potatoes and vegetables. The second is the Wok, where fresh stir fry will be made to order. The third, a grill, features wraps and salads, such as chicken Caesar, Portobello mushroom and tuna. Pizza is the specialty of the fourth food station.
The inside of the restaurant is redone, complete with a terrazzo floor sporting designs with Terrace chairs and sailboats.
A soft seating area complements modern wood tables and chairs, and the entire room brings elements of the Terrace indoors.
“It’s the perfect environment to sip coffee and enjoy the lake view or visit with friends,” Pescatore says.
Lakefront on Langdon is one of four restaurants that the Wisconsin Union operates. The other three are Der Rathskeller in Memorial Union, and Einstein’s and the Red Oak Grill in Union South. The Union also runs six delis around campus.
