Kitt Reuter-Foss headlines Waisman benefit
Mezzo-soprano Kitt Reuter-Foss will headline a benefit concert for the Friends of the Waisman Center April 30 on campus.
Proceeds support Waisman Center activities, which benefit people with disabilities and their families.
The intimate setting, the 240-seat Margaret H’Doubler performance space of Lathrop Hall, 1050 University Ave., provides a relaxed, more personal experience than most concert venues, says benefit organizer Carol Palmer. “We encourage the featured performer to have fun, to improvise, and to do something a little different,” she says.
Reuter-Foss plans a mixture of musical selections, from classical to Broadway. As with previous Friends‚ benefits, she will most likely talk to the audience about her music. “We are sure this year’s benefit will be as much of a treat for the audience as our other benefit concerts have been,” Palmer says.
The concert begins at 5 p.m., and will be followed by a reception with Reuter-Foss in the recently restored Virginia F. Harrison Parlor in Lathrop Hall.
Tickets: $25. A donor ticket, which includes the concert and reception, costs $60. For more information, contact the Friends Office, (608) 263-5837.
