Ideas sought for UW-Madison master plan
Two sessions aimed at soliciting ideas for the new UW–Madison master plan, a document that will guide campus renewal well into the next decade, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
Faculty, staff and students are invited to bring their lunches to a noontime brown-bag session in the On Wisconsin Room of the Red Gym, 716 Langdon St., where they can share ideas about how the campus can become more workable, livable and sustainable.
Then, from 5-7 p.m., the university will host a similar presentation and forum for the general public in 132 WARF Building, 610 Walnut St. Light refreshments will be served at both events.
The last campus master plan was completed in 1996, and more than 80 percent of it has been completed or is in the design-and-construction phase. The latest effort will closely examine existing and proposed buildings, outdoor spaces, transportation and utilities to create a blueprint for future improvements.
The university has also established a Web site to explain the planning process and solicit feedback from people with ideas about how the campus should look and function in years to come.
