Hybrid Vehicle Team offers tire pressure checks
Today (Friday, Sept. 24) from 3:30 to 6 p.m., members of the UW–Madison Hybrid Vehicle Team will check tire pressure and inflate tires, pit-stop-style, at the main exit of the lot 17 parking ramp on Engineering Drive.
The event is part of an effort to raise awareness of ways to increase vehicle fuel efficency. The students also will be distributing free cookies, tire pressure gauges, and an informational packet about improving vehicle fuel efficiency.
“If your tires are underinflated, you could lose up to two miles per gallon in your fuel economy,” says Mechanical Engineering faculty associate Glenn Bower, the team advisor. “This maintenance strategy is an easy way for individuals to make a difference in the environment.”
