January 15, 2004 By John Lucas

Human resources and training professionals from across the state will convene in Madison to discuss best practices, and to share training and staff development resources, at the Wisconsin State Training Council‘s third annual conference.

“Creating Success Through Learning” will be held Thursday, March 4, at the Monona Terrace Convention Center. The council, an association of various government agencies in the State of Wisconsin, is sponsoring the conference. The Office of Human Resources Development at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is organizing the event.

Open to human resources and training professionals from state government, higher education and private-sector business, the event will include a keynote presentation (via satellite) from Peter Senge, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology lecturer and nationally recognized expert in the field of systems thinking in management. He will lead a discussion titled “Building Learning Communities” that will examine ways people and organizations can work together to enhance their capacity to produce results.

Concurrent sessions will be offered throughout the day, covering the latest in training trends, technologies, tools and techniques. In addition, many area vendors and consultants will be exhibiting throughout the conference, offering participants the opportunity to gather a variety of information on training products and services.

Registration is $90 and parking is an optional $8 fee. To register, or to learn more about the event, visit http://www.ohrd.wisc.edu/WSTC or call the Office of Human Resource Development at (608) 263-1016.
