Greeks organize service day
The Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Association have organized Service Day 2000, an all-day volunteer project Thursday, April 27, involving all Greek chapters affiliated with the university.
Fraternities and sororities will send members to various service organizations throughout the Madison area, where each member will perform at least two hours of community service.
Included among the 25 agencies are the Madison Senior Center, Friends of Madison Public Library, Special Olympics Wisconsin, Madison English As A Second Language School, and the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin.
Service Day is a part of Greek Week, a series of events and friendly competitions involving campus fraternities and sororities. The Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Association are umbrella organizations that coordinate activities involving campus Greek groups.
