Graduate School names interim associate deans
Graduate School Dean Martin Cadwallader has tapped three veteran faculty members to assume key interim posts within the school.
William Mellon, pharmacy professor and associate dean in the School of Pharmacy, and Donna Paulnock, a Medical School professor of medical microbiology, will serve as interim associate deans for research policy and the biological sciences, respectively. They replace the departing R. Timothy Mulcahy.
Mulcahy, associate vice chancellor for research policy and associate dean for the biological sciences, leaves the Graduate School at the end of January to become vice president for research at the University of Minnesota.
Biochemistry professor Brian Fox will take over for Mulcahy as chair of the Conflict of Interest Committee, and Eric Sandgren, associate professor of veterinary medicine, will assume the chair of the All Campus Animal Care and Use Committee.
In addition, School of Music professor Susan Cook will serve as interim associate dean for the arts and humanities, while Graduate School Associate Dean Judith Kornblatt spends the spring semester as a resident fellow in the Institute for Research on the Humanities.
