Good seats still available for Tudor dinners

November 19, 2001

Openings are still available at the 68th Annual Tudor Holiday Dinner Concerts at Great Hall, Memorial Union.

The magical night of fine dining, old English pageantry and rich choral presentations is a tradition at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Tudors features classic and contemporary holiday selections performed by the Philharmonic Chorus of Madison directed by Patrick Gorman.

Seats are available Wednesday, Nov. 28 and Dec. 4-5. Tudors run every night Nov. 28-Dec. 5 except Monday, Dec. 3.

This year’s feast includes choice of Cornish game hen with brandy-peppercorn sauce or a brandied and stuffed acorn squash. Trimmings include jeweled sweet potato casserole, green beans with red peppers and romaine salad with navel oranges and craisins. Of course, the feast ends with the famous flaming figgy pudding with hard sauce.

The program each night begins at 6:15 p.m. with the traditional Wassail Bowl and hors d’oeuvres. There is also wine service and cash bar.

Tickets: $35 UW–Madison students, faculty and staff and Wisconsin Union members, and their guests; $40 others plus a $5 processing fee for all orders, Wisconsin Union Box Office, Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., (608) 262-2201.
