Gigi cancels as Baaba Maal opener

Ethiopian singer Gigi has postponed her U.S. tour and will not open a show Feb. 9 with Senegalese musician Baaba Maal at the Wisconsin Union Theater.

According to her promoter, Gigi is preparing for her own headlining tour. Grammy nominee Baaba Maal and his band will offer a full show of “Acoustic Africa,” a musical return to Maal’s roots. Call 608-262-2201 for tickets and more information.
