FP&M finalists to meet with campus community July 10-12

Three finalists for the position of associate vice chancellor for facilities planning and management at the University of Wisconsin–Madison will meet with members of the campus community July 10-12.

Each candidate will give a presentation and answer questions in forums open to the campus community. The forums will be held in 220 Ingraham Hall from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. on the following days:

• Tuesday, July 10: Robert Simonton, assistant vice chancellor, capital programs, Oregon University System.
• Wednesday, July 11: William Elvey, director of facilities management, University of Texas at Dallas.
• Thursday, July 12: Mina Amundsen, university planner, facilities services at Cornell University.

While visiting UW–Madison, the finalists also will meet with university leaders, Facilities Planning and Management staff, and faculty and staff groups.

A 17-member search committee of faculty, staff, students and community members recommended the finalists to Vice Chancellor for Administration Darrell Bazzell.

The associate vice chancellor for facilities planning and management provides leadership and strategic vision over the full spectrum of UW–Madison’s facilities management activities. These include development of a new campus master plan, capital budgeting, facilities project design and construction, environmental and safety compliance, transportation services and other activities.

The new associate vice chancellor will succeed Alan Fish, who is now vice president of real estate and campus services at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Dorothy Steele is serving as interim associate vice chancellor.
