Follow the Volleyball Team on their Trip to Russia

The women’s volleyball team has a Web site where they are posting a daily digital diary and photo album of their 21-day training and cultural trip to Russia.

The team left Madison June 22 and spent two days training at a Finnish sports institute near Helsinki. On June 26 the team left for St. Petersburg where they will spend five days and play two matches. After their stay in St. Petersburg, the team will train and compete with the Moscow City Volleyball Club for eight days before returning home.

The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics created the Web site so fans and friends could track the team’s journey. Each day one or more coaches and players contributes a diary entry to the site. The team has also been equipped with a digital camera and is posting photos from time to time to the Web site.

The Web site also allows visitors to correspond with the team. A page in the site logs fans’ messages to the team.
