Film Fest seeks submissions
The fifth annual Wisconsin Film Festival, a showcase for the best new independent film scheduled March 27-30 in Madison, is now accepting submissions.
The festival is a public program of the UW–Madison Arts Institute. The event presents feature, documentary, experimental films, world cinema and new media; cultivates discovery through talks, panel discussions with filmmakers; and showcases the work of Wisconsin filmmakers. In 2002, the festival showed 138 films and attracted attendance of 18,500.
The festival is now accepting submissions of narrative, documentary and experimental films and videos of any length, as well as new media projects, for the 2003 event. The festival invites general, non-competitive submissions as well as entries for juried competitions for Wisconsin filmmakers and students in three categories:
- General film submissions, non-competitive. Films / filmmakers from any state or country are eligible.
- “Wisconsin’s Own” competition: For filmmakers with Wisconsin ties.
- Student Competition: Students at Wisconsin universities and colleges.
