Faculty and academic staff invited to apply for Wisconsin Idea Seminar 2015

UW-Madison faculty and academic staff interested in learning about the state of Wisconsin and the university’s relationship to the state should apply now for the Wisconsin Idea Seminar, May 18-22, 2015.  

In addition to building connections with the people of Wisconsin, the seminar provides a unique opportunity to connect with colleagues from many departments across the university, discovering common interests as friends or researchers.

In addition to bus lectures, this year’s tour includes stops at the Aldo Leopold Legacy Center, Baraboo; Pfaff’s Prairie Dairy, Melrose; UW-Eau Claire; Spooner Agricultural Research Station; Big Top Chautauqua at Stage North, Washburn; Red Cliff Reservation; the town of Bayfield on Lake Superior; Lincoln Hills School for Boys, Irma; Del Monte Foods, Plover; and an urban high school in Milwaukee.  

This five-day bus tour is especially designed for new and newly promoted UW–Madison faculty. Lead academic staff with statewide responsibilities may also apply. Each sponsoring school or college provides $650 per participant to cover room and board. All other costs are covered by a generous grant from the Evjue Foundation.

Nomination forms should be signed by your department chair or director and submitted by them to your dean’s office before March 2, 2015.
