Exhibition aims to ‘make sense’ at Steinhauer Gallery
John Miller’s personal experiences in and knowledge of the outdoors have shaped his art profoundly, he says.
“I love trying to make sense of the complex and sometimes apparently chaotic patterns in nature,” says the Madison artist. Miller’s acrylics, drawings and monoprints are now on display at the Arboretum‘s Steinhauer Trust Gallery in the Visitor Center.
“My art is an attempt to simplify and distill my knowledge of the world into a form that can be understood and appreciated both by me and by the people who view my work.”
If you would like to be in that latter category, you have until Tuesday, Aug. 30. “Landscape into Art: Translations by John Miller” is free and open to the public; for more information, contact the Arboretum at 263-7888 or info@uwarboretum.org.
