Events honor Native American Heritage Month

Through the end of November, the UW–Madison community will honor Native American culture as part of Native American Heritage Month. More than 230 Native American students, representing dozens of Native American nations, are enrolled at the university.

A listing of events follows. All events are free and open to the public.

  • Bill Gartner lecture, “Indigenous Agriculture in the Americas,” 7 p.m., today (Wednesday, Nov. 17), MSC Lounge, second floor, Red Gym. Gartner is a senior lecturer in anthropology at UW-Fox Valley.
  • Native American Dance Workshop, 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 18, at Union South (TITU).
  • Corn Husk Doll Workshop, 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30, Chadbourne Main Lounge.
