Entrepreneurs: Business plan contest in the works
The 2005 Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest, an event intended to give entrepreneurs with technology-based ideas a chance to grow a business, is now accepting registrations for this year’s event.
Produced by the Wisconsin Technology Council, the Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest features cash and in-kind prizes and exposes new entrepreneurs to advice and guidance from judges and mentors.
The deadline for entering is 5 p.m. Jan. 31. Registration can be completed online at http://www.govsbizplancontest.com. This year, contest categories include the life sciences, information technology, business services and advanced manufacturing. At least one entrant on a team must be a Wisconsin resident and 18 or older to enter. Other rules and guidelines can be found at the contest Web site.
Last year’s winning contestants shared $120,000 in cash and in-kind prizes. They also gained exposure and experience. This year’s three-round process will culminate at the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference, June 7-8, in Milwaukee.
