Employees can save energy

Campus facility managers are reminding employees how they can save energy through the holiday season.

The next two long weekends during the heating season will provide an excellent opportunity for the campus community to save a little extra energy.

Building occupants should:

• Close all windows (check the storm window too)
• Close the shades on the north, east and west side of the building
• Close sash on fume hoods
• Close entry and vestibule doors
• Turn off copy machines
• Turn off computers
• Turn off the lights
• Turn down room thermostats
• Turn off water faucets
• Unplug space heaters
• Unplug coffee machines
