Employee Recognition Ice Cream Social

As we head into the final days of the semester, Chancellor Rebecca Blank would like to invite all faculty and staff to gather in Birge Hall to celebrate the close of another academic year, and sample a little bit of summer.

The annual Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social is set for Tuesday, May 15, beginning at 1 p.m. Campus leaders will serve free ice cream until 2:30 p.m., or until supplies run out, whichever comes first.

All your favorite ice cream flavors will be on hand, as well as a lactose-free vanilla ice cream. “Bucky’s Parade,” a new flavor created for the Bucky on Parade public art campaign, will be served. Other dietary alternatives will also be available upon request.

Administrators, deans and directors will be scooping as a gesture of thanks for your hard work and dedication this academic year.

Work units are encouraged to be flexible with employees to allow them to come to Birge Hall, or are encouraged to host celebrations in their own locations especially for those units located off campus. The event, originally planned to be held outdoors on Bascom Hill, was moved due to the recent rain and its impact on the hill.
