We at Employee Compensation and Benefits Services, the central benefits office for UW–Madison, are happy to help you maximize use of your benefits package. Our highly qualified benefits specialists are available to provide these services to all employees — whether you are new to the university, in the middle of your career or preparing for retirement:

  • A Web site that offers current information that is important to you
  • Answering your payroll or benefits questions over the phone or via e-mail
  • One-on-one counseling (by appointment)
  • Benefit workshops, available throughout the year (registration required)
  • An annual Benefits Fair held in October

In addition to these services, we also provide individualized UW Staff Benefits Statements each May. You will receive the statement at your campus address if you are an active, permanent UW employee covered under the Wisconsin Retirement System. You will not receive a statement if you are an LTE. The statement provides information about: projected calendar-year employee and university contributions to each benefit program; insurance plans in which you are enrolled and type of coverage; contributions to tax-deferred plans (TSA, Deferred Compensation); and contributions to the Employee Reimbursement Accounts.
