Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social scheduled for May 6 on Bascom Hill
Update: Because of predicted thunderstorms on May 6, this event’s location has been moved to the lobby of Birge Hall.
It’s time to mark your calendars for the 2009 Employee Appreciation Ice Cream Social.
It will take place on Wednesday, May 6, on Bascom Hill, rain or shine. It starts at 1 p.m. and will continue until supplies run out. All university employees are invited.
Bucky Badger, star of the award-winning documentary film “Being Bucky,” will make an appearance to greet employees and thank them in his nonverbal way for the great work that they perform on behalf of the university. Members of the UW Marching Band have been invited to play some tunes.
Several flavors of award-winning Babcock ice cream, including Strawbiddy Swirl, will be served, and alternatives will be available for those with special dietary concerns.
The celebrity scoopers will include administrators, deans and directors, who are collectively funding the event, which is now in its sixth year.
It is co-sponsored and organized by the Office of the Vice Chancellor and the Office of Human Resource Development and held in conjunction with State Employee Recognition Day, which also happens to fall on May 6 this year.
