Elvehjem features Indian miniatures

Indian miniature gouache paintings collected by UW alumna Jane Werner Watson will be on exhibit at the Elvehjem Museum of Art. Usually created to illustrate great tales, the miniatures were painted in detail so fine that they were said to be painted with brushes with only three hairs. Shown here is “Row of Shops,” gouache and gold on paper. The exhibition, “Visions of India,” will open on Saturday, April 23, and remain on view through Saturday, July 9.
