Digital Bazaar set for Humanities
The annual Digital Bazaar Friday, May 3, features many forms of electronically produced, modified, or presented art by students and others at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
The free public exhibition is open 8-10 p.m. in the courtyard and colonnade outdoor areas of the Mosse Humanities building, 455 N. Park St. Music starts at 7:15 p.m. The rain date is Saturday, May 4.
More than 50 artists are expected to participate in the event, which will feature computer 3-D animations, video installations, interactive media and electronic music.
The Digital Bazaar serves to promote and accurately display artwork produced by local artists in a context where attendees and exhibitors alike may view and appreciate others’ works in addition to being able to talk to the presenting artists and better understand their techniques and motivations. George Cramer, UW–Madison art professor, sponsors the event, along with Electronic Media arts group, or EM, a student organization dedicated to the fostering of an electronic arts community, and Student Techno Artist and Techno Interest Collective, or STATIC, exists to raise awareness of electronic music and electronic music culture.
