Dane County mask order to be lifted March 1
Public Health Madison & Dane County announced Monday that Dane County’s order requiring face coverings to be worn indoors will be lifted on March 1 due to declining COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.
By federal law, those who ride public transportation, including Madison Metro buses, must continue to wear a face mask. Individual businesses and organizations may enforce their own requirements for masks.
UW–Madison’s mask requirement remains in effect through March 1. University leaders continue to consult with campus and other public health experts and monitor COVID-19 case trends on and off campus. An announcement will be made before the end of the month about whether the requirement will continue.
