Dahlberg Elected Fellow of American Academy of Microbiology
James E. Dahlberg, the UW–Madison Hilldale professor of biomolecular chemistry, has been elected to fellowship in the American Academy of Microbiology.
Dahlberg, who joined the faculty in the UW–Madison Medical School in 1969, was recognized for “outstanding scientific excellence and originality.” He was one of 13 scientists worldwide elected to the Academy. His research centers on the structure and function of DNA and RNA.
The American Academy of Microbiology is an honorific leadership group within the American Society for Microbiology. The Academy identifies scientific issues in microbiology that have societal relevance and publishes reports on those issues that serve science, government and the public.
