City honors transportation management program
UW–Madison’s Transportation Demand Management program recently was honored with the Mayor’s Climate Protection Award.
The award, presented to TDM coordinator Renee Callaway, honors outstanding efforts to ensure clean air and conserve energy in Madison.
Transportation Services initiated the TDM program during the 1992-93 academic year to seek out ways to reduce campus commuters’ reliance on personal vehicles. Its accomplishments include a free bus program for employees, low-cost park-and-ride lots, and effective bicycle, pedestrian, carpool and vanpool programs.
