Career and Internship Fair set for Sept. 20
University of Wisconsin–Madison career services units will host the fall Career and Internship Fair, which will bring more than 275 organizations to campus on Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Kohl Center.
This event will be held from 4:30-8 p.m.
“UW-Madison career services units are excited about the number of companies coming to the fall Career and Internship Fair,” says Maria McGinnis, one of the organizers of the event. “This is the largest one-day fair ever at UW–Madison. The Career Services units attribute this to more companies willing to hire graduates and host internships.”
In fact, there will be at least 26 more organizations at this event than there were at the last fall event.
“More companies are being added every day,” says McGinnis, an associate student services coordinator at the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences.
Students and alumni are encouraged to bring their smartphones again this year. QR codes will be featured on signs at employer tables and around the Kohl Center during the fair allowing attendees the chance to view company websites and the event guide for important information.
The UW Fall Career and Internship Fair will also have a Twitter hashtag, #UWCF. Employers, attendees and university staff members are encouraged to tweet about their experiences at the fair.
The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, College of Letters and Sciences, School of Education, School of Human Ecology, the Wisconsin Alumni Association and the Wisconsin School of Business are working together to host the career fair.
All UW–Madison students and alumni, especially those looking for internships and full-time positions are encouraged to attend. For a full listing of participating organizations, attendees should visit BuckyNet and click “events.”
Campus career services units provide resources for students to explore career interests and develop skills that will make them successful as they seek employment or admission to graduate or professional programs.
