Business services leader Langer takes on expanded role

Dan Langer, who has served as interim associate vice chancellor/director of business services, will assume expanded duties in UW–Madison’s Division of Business Services.

He will be responsible for managing the Risk Management, Bursar, Purchasing, Content Management, Communications and Training offices. Along with these added duties, he will continue to serve as controller and lead the critical areas of financial reporting, disbursements, and internal controls compliance. His new title will be assistant vice chancellor for business services/controller.

Langer reports to new Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance David Murphy, who oversees the Business Services, Budget and Auxiliary Operations Analysis units under a reorganization of central campus budget and finance functions that was completed during the summer.

Langer is a UW–Madison alumnus and father of two UW graduates. He’s worked for UW–Madison since 2010, when he became associate dean and chief budget officer in the Wisconsin School of Business. He has been with the Division of Business Services since 2012. Prior to joining UW–Madison, Langer worked for KPMG and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
