Business school honorees named

Several teaching/service awards were presented to Business School faculty and academic staff at a Celebration of Excellence April 27. The Erwin A. Gaumnitz Distinguished Faculty Award was presented to associate professor Ella Mae Matsumura, accounting and information systems. The award honors a School of Business faculty member who has an outstanding service record and has excelled in at least two of the following areas: teaching, research and community service.

The Robert A. Jerred Distinguished Service Award was presented to Donald Hausch, professor, operations and information management, and director of the Executive MBA program, for an outstanding record of public service with demonstrated integrity, ability and dedication to contributing to society.

The Lawrence J. Larson Teaching Excellence Award was presented to Mark Browne, professor, actuarial science, risk management and insurance, for demonstrated excellence in course design, distinguished performance in the classroom and effective communication with students.

The Mabel C. Chipman Teaching Excellence Award was presented to Tim Pollock, assistant professor, management and human resources, for outstanding teaching.

The Dean’s Academic Staff Teaching Excellence Award was presented to Sandra Ihle, teaching professor, business communication, for demonstrated excellence in the classroom and dedication to students.
