Brown to lead planning and landscape office
Gary Brown has been promoted to director of the Office of Planning and Landscape Architecture at Facilities Planning and Management, Associate Vice Chancellor Alan Fish says.
“Gary’s extensive experience in planning and landscape architecture, coupled with strong project management and communication skills make him an excellent fit for this position,” Fish says.
Brown had been assistant director of planning and construction, and in his new role will coordinate the work of planners, landscape architects and a facilities access specialist.
He also will lead campus master planning, which will direct new building, utility, transportation and open-space development for the next decade, Fish says.
In addition, Brown promotes the profession of landscape architecture by mentoring students studying the field and participating with the Department of Landscape Architecture and the American Society of Landscape Architecture.
He will be recognized this fall with induction to the Council of Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architecture.
