Book sale planned for April 7–10

The largest used book sale in Wisconsin will be held Wednesday–Saturday, April 7–10, in Room 116 of the Memorial Library.

The sale includes more than 15,000 books covering a wide range of subjects.

The semiannual sales, organized by the Friends of the UW–Madison Libraries, help support the Friends and the Libraries. Sales fund an annual lecture series, purchases for the library collections, and a visiting scholar support program.

Books for the sale are donated primarily by faculty, staff, students, and Madison-area residents. Donated materials cover subjects including American studies, fiction, foreign languages, physical and biological sciences, computer science, government, political science, law, education, fine arts, self-help, reference, business, social sciences, religion, philosophy, women’s studies and history. This sale will feature books in baseball, cooking, German history, Latin America, and Soil Science.

The sale is free (except the preview sale) and open to the public.

The preview sale will be held from 5–9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7. The admission fee is $5.

The regular sale will be held from 10:30 a.m.–7 p.m. Thursday–Friday, April 8–9. Admission is free.

The Saturday Sale will be held from 10:30 a.m.–1 p.m. on Saturday, April 10. This is a $3-a-bag sale — bring your own bag or buy one for $1.
