Black student union plans ‘celebrate yourself’ event
The Wisconsin Black Student Union will hold “Celebrate Yourself,” a Black History Month celebration at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, in Mills Concert Hall, Mosse Humanities Building, 455 N. Park St.
The event will feature performances by the Clyde Stubblefield Band, Charlie Brooks, the UW Gospel Choir, Ingrid Smith, Atimevu African Drum and Dance Troupe, and members of Zeta Phi Beta sorority.
The event is free and no tickets are required.
In addition, the BSU will confer its 2005 awards on UW–Madison students Lyntrel Smith, Lucy Osakwe, Eric Pritchard, Jocelyn Gibert and Lilia Williams, along with faculty, staff and community members Mercile Lee, Candace McDowell, Cleveland James, Carl Daniel and Gloria Hawkins.
