Baumann to lead Society of Behavioral Medicine
Linda Baumann, School of Nursing, is the new president of the Society of Behavioral Medicine. The society, headquartered in Middleton, is the largest multidisciplinary organization dedicated to advancing the science and practice of behavioral approaches to health promotion, disease prevention and treatment.
Baumann’s research focuses on health beliefs and self-regulation of behavior in health and illness in underserved populations. She teaches courses in primary care, rural health and health behavior, and maintains an academic clinical practice as an adult nurse practitioner.
