Badger Poll results to be released July 17-19

The opinions of Wisconsin residents on a range of issues – from President Bush’s job performance to immigration to the proposed state constitutional amendment outlawing same-sex marriage – will be released to the media next week.

The survey center conducted the poll between June 23 and July 2 and the findings summarize the feelings of 508 randomly chosen state residents.

Results of the survey will be released over a three-day period. Here is the schedule for release of the findings:

– Monday, July 17, at 2 p.m.: Results will focus on how state residents feel about the issues of same-sex marriage, civil unions and a proposed constitutional amendment that goes before voters in November defining marriage as being between one man and one woman. The poll also samples state opinion on the death penalty.

– Tuesday, July 18, at 10 a.m.: These findings test public opinion on the Bush administration’s performance, feelings about the war in Iraq and homeland security.

– Wednesday, July 19, at 2 p.m.: State residents’ feeling s about the issues of immigration and stem cell research will be examined.

The Badger Poll is intended to be a poll of record for the state, investigating matters of concern to Wisconsinites including politics, culture and their daily lives.
