Badger football sold out

July 27, 2004

The 2004 Badger football season is entirely sold out, Corbin Hunt, assistant athletic director for ticket operations at UW–Madison, announced July 22.

“We are now sold out for the Central Florida game,” Hunt says of the last game in which tickets were available. “This makes us sold out for the entire football season. It is possible that we would get some limited number of tickets back from the visiting teams, however it would be much closer to the game and we may only have them game day if that is when they would be returned.”

The Wisconsin Athletic Ticket Office has sold a record 68,830 public and student season tickets for the 2004 football season. Hunt says, “Loyal Badger fans have surpassed even our greatest expectation this year by purchasing every season ticket we had available.”

This year’s sale with the new suites, Buckingham Club, Varsity Club and south end zone have exceeded the previous 2001 record of 62,020 by more than 6,800 season tickets.

Both Hunt and Vince Sweeney, associate athletic director for external relations, agree this is the first time in school history the entire football season has been sold out in advance, much less six weeks prior to kickoff.
