Athletic Study Center To Be Dedicated
A new $2.4 million study center for student-athletes will be dedicated in an April 26 ceremony.
The Fetzer Student Academic Services Center occupies 20,000 square feet in a previously unfinished area of the McClain Facility, the athletic department’s indoor practice center. The study center includes tutoring rooms, an auditorium, a computer lab, study areas and offices. Advisers and tutors will staff the center, which is located near the weight room and the football and track locker rooms. Athletic department officials say the center will provide a variety of convenient study options for student-athletes.
A total of $1.9 million for the center was funded through donations, with the remainder from a pool of licensing revenue. The center’s major donor is Wade Fetzer, a UW–Madison graduate and Chicago businessman.
