Annual Alumni University hosted at UW-Madison

This summer’s annual Wisconsin Alumni Lifelong Learning, a partnership between the Wisconsin Alumni Association and the Division of Continuing Studies, provides an opportunity to experience college and life — without the exams and papers.

UW–Madison alumni and friends may attend the four-day, educational event June 25-28 at the Fluno Center for Executive Education.

Topics include “Today’s Political Economy,” “New Perspectives on Health” and “Our Unique Wisconsin.” A special student activism showcase has been planned, which will feature students and faculty members recounting their experiences on the 2001 Freedom Ride through the south and discussing service learning on today’s UW–Madison campus.

“Alumni University gives alumni and friends a chance to learn from UW–Madison faculty who are experts on today’s most current topics,” says Paula Bonner, president and CEO of WAA. “We’ve scheduled a variety of activities that incorporate faculty and students, from thought-provoking, classroom-style instruction, to tours of new campus facilities such as the HealthEmotions Institute. Of course, there will be plenty of free time to attend receptions, cookouts and explore the Madison area at leisure.”

The $300 per person cost includes all lectures, tours, program materials, a partial meal plan and on-campus parking. You do not have to be a UW–Madison graduate to attend. For information, contact Sarah Schutt, (608) 262-5699.
