Alternate Traffic Routes Planned for Student Move-In Days

The majority of students who will be living in university residence halls this year will move in on Wednesday, Aug. 27, and Thursday, Aug. 28. There will be some traffic changes in the campus area in order to accommodate the students and their families during that period. These restrictions will be in effect from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days:

• Observatory Drive from Charter Street to Elm Drive will be one-way westbound;
• Elm Drive will be one-way northbound;
• Willow Drive, which is normally a pedestrian and bicycle route only, will be open to one-way vehicle traffic westbound from Elm Drive to Marsh Lane. Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists should be on the lookout for each other and are asked to go slowly;
• there will be no thru traffic on Lake Street between Johnson and Dayton streets.
