Q: Do you know of an Internet radio that has the Wisconsin Badgers games on it? It would be a big help to me because I can’t make it to all the games but I would love to listen to them!

A: Access a variety of shows for free on the Wisconsin Badgers Web site, including coaches’ television and radio shows for football and men’s basketball, audio broadcasts for women’s basketball, men’s hockey, volleyball and softball, the weekly “Badger Sports Talk” radio show, Livestats (home games only except football) and post-event news conferences after home games (select teams).

In addition, Yahoo! Sports provides fans with live Internet audio of sporting events and helps generate revenue for the athletic department. This service is available via Yahoo! Sports College Broadcast on a subscription basis.

Q: The terrace sunburst chairs are awesome! What is some of the history behind them?

A: The famous chairs first appeared on the Memorial Union Terrace in the 1970s. However, an earlier version of the sunburst chair based on a French design may have also existed in the 1950s and ’60s. Prior to the sunburst chair, the Union used a different chair design, which also had a flat seat and round back. These chairs had flexible metal slats in the seat and back, and as traffic (and thus, the use of the chairs) increased in the 1960s, the rivets in the chairs began to break. This caused the chairs to pinch innocent sitters in uncomfortable places. This is one of the reasons for the development of the current design.
