Crabapples catch Martha’s eye
Several photos of crabapples at the Longenecker Horticultural Gardens of the Arboretum are featured in the April issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine, pages 248-249. Staff members from the magazine visited the Arboretum and the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Ill., early last May to catch the trees in bloom for an eight-page spread.

The New Employee Orientation committee is looking for people who love to work at UW–Madison. The committee hopes to identify three to five people who are willing to share their affection for the institution with others on a proposed new employee orientation video. Those not selected for the video may become part of a brochure or flyer that the committee is planning.

Watch TV in French
TV5, the International French-language television network, is now available on campus cable systems, according to the Department of French and Italian.

Students, visitors and professionals will be able to watch TV5 at Union South, Memorial Union, Lowell Hall, the Friedrick Center and the Fluno Center for Executive Education. Residence hall residents will find TV5 on the air 24 hours a day on channel 73. More information: http://www.tv5.org.

Benefit Education series continues

Resources for new employees
The Office of Human Resources has launched a web site for new employees with pointers to many online resources: http://www.ohrd.wisc.edu/NEO/index.html.

Next fall, the office plans to start an in-person orientation for all new faculty and staff that would supplement department orientation programs.

Also, benefit seminars for all new staff and faculty give an overview of their benefit package. The sessions, organized by Employee Compensation and Benefits, are held every Tuesday, 9-11 a.m., 413 A.W. Peterson, 750 University Ave.

DSL service area expanded
The Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) service area has expanded to include
