A sweet way to boost Partners in Giving
Last year the UW–Madison campus contributed more than $1.2 million dollars to the Partners in Giving campaign. The campaign doesn’t start until October, but we really need your help now.
“We need you to think about ice cream – there’s always time for that,” says Lori Berquam, vice provost for student life, dean of students and chair of the campus campaign. “What type of ice cream have you always wanted to create? What would be a catchy name for that tasty treat? Can you connect the flavor with the concept of giving to the campaign?
Berquam is working with Bill Klein, Babcock Dairy plant manager, to create a special ice cream flavor to help promote the annual State, University and UW-Hospital Clinics Employees Combined Campaign of Dane County.
“I think coming up with a flavor is almost as good as eating ice cream!” Berquam says. “Have some fun with it, but just don’t taste-test too many.”
As you think about your flavor, think about a base flavor, a variant (such as a swirl) and three or four add-ins.
Just to give you an idea, Berquam submitted the following flavor:
NAME: “Chippin’ In”
INGREDIENTS: White chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips and mint chocolate chips with a coffee flavored swish in vanilla bean ice cream
Submit your idea by June 30.
If your flavor wins, you will get a free scround – which is the official name for the tub that you’ll find in the ice cream shop freezer – for you and your friends. Sounds like fun, right?
Join us by giving a little and changing a lot!
