Common to headline All-Campus Party concert
The University of Wisconsin–Madison student-planned All-Campus Party (ACP) will present Common as the headline act for this year’s Badger Blowout Concert on Wednesday, April 26, at the UW Field House.
Common, a native of Chicago, is a hip-hop role model with a large presence in the rap industry. He has been nominated for four Grammy Awards.
Common’s newest album, “Be,” has received rave reviews from critics, who have said that it is one of the best hip-hop albums of the year. In addition to his strong musical resume, Common is using his success to reach out to others through the creation of the Common Ground Foundation, which works to help youth deal with a variety of social and personal issues.
The ACP concert is for UW–Madison students, faculty and staff only. Doors open at 6 p.m. on April 26; the concert begins at 7 p.m. Opening acts include the Rob DZ Experience with Bro DJ and the winner of the second annual All-Campus Idol.
Any UW–Madison faculty, staff or student must present a valid UW–Madison ID at the Memorial Union Box Office through Tuesday, April 25. There will be one ticket per ID per person at the box office – anyone who wants to sit with friends must go to the box office together to get tickets. The box office is open from 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and from noon-5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Tickets are limited to the first 4,000 recipients and are not for resale. Tickets must be picked up in advance; the box office will be closed the day of the show.
To enter the concert, attendees must present both a valid UW–Madison ID and ticket at the UW Field House Gates B and C.
The sixth annual All-Campus Party is a cost-free, alcohol-free celebration created by the Wisconsin Alumni Student Board (WASB), a student-run organization sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association. The festivities begin on Saturday, April 22, and continue through Saturday, April 29.
