British consul general to speak on Transatlantic Alliance
Andrew Seaton, the British government’s senior representative to Wisconsin and 12 other Midwestern states, will speak at UW–Madison on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Seaton will discuss “The European Union and the Transatlantic Alliance: Are the Models Broken?” at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St., at 4 p.m. His talk – sponsored by the UW European Studies Alliance, in collaboration with the Office of the Dean of International Studies – is free and open to the public.
Andrew Seaton took up his appointment in Chicago in August 2003. Seaton joined the Foreign Office in 1977 and also served for several years as trade commissioner in Hong Kong and in the British Overseas Development Administration. From 2000-’03, he was head of the China-Hong Kong Department at the Foreign Office.
