Madison kids ‘trick or treat’ with campus Greeks

October 19, 2005 By John Lucas

UW–Madison fraternities and sororities will host “Trick-or-Treat with the Greeks,” a unique opportunity for area children to experience a fun and safe Halloween on campus, from 3-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The event is expected to bring more than 500 costumed children from nonprofit children’s programs such as Project Bootstrap and the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County to campus free of charge.

While visiting fraternity and sorority chapters on Langdon Street, children will participate in events such as a haunted house, cookie decorating and pumpkin painting.

The event is organized by the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association. An estimated 500 fraternity and sorority volunteers will walk the costumed children between house and supervise each activity.

All proceeds from Halloween Greek Community fundraising will be donated to participating children’s organizations.
