NPR political editor, Seattle Times business editor visit campus
Ron Elving, senior Washington editor for National Public Radio News, and Becky Bisbee, business editor of the Seattle Times, will visit UW–Madison this fall as writers in residence.
Elving, who directs NPR’s coverage of the Capitol and national politics, will speak to journalism and political science classes during the week of Oct. 23 as the Public Affairs Writer in Residence.
Previously, Elving worked as political editor for Congressional Quarterly and USA Today and is a former reporter and state Capitol bureau chief for the Milwaukee Journal.
Bisbee will visit campus during the week of Nov. 6 as the Business Writer in Residence, and will meet with journalism and business students to discuss the role of business journalism. She leads a staff of 20 journalists who cover a dozen Fortune 500 companies, as well as biotechs, telecoms and small businesses.
Bisbee also served as business editor at The Austin American-Statesman and the Modesto Bee.
The Writer in Residence Program is sponsored by the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and University Communications, with support from the UW Foundation.
