Learn about ‘kitchen chemistry’
Ever stick a box of baking soda in the fridge to reduce odors? Find out if this and other kitchen beliefs are scientifically sound.
Robert Wolke, professor emeritus of chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh and “Food 101” columnist for the Washington Post, will critique established kitchen practices and the science behind them at a 3:30 p.m. lecture on Friday, Sept. 30, in Room 1315 of the Chemistry Building.
Wolke will sign books after the lecture, sponsored by the Department of Chemistry and the Wisconsin Initiative for Science Literacy.
