Re: Pay Plan for Faculty and Academic Staff

“Tuesday, the Legislature’s Joint Committee on Employment Relations approved much needed pay increases for UW System faculty and academic staff. Not only do I greatly appreciate their action, I am also thankful for the many supportive statements members of the committee made about the value of our hard-working employees.

Like many employees these past several years, our faculty and staff have worked harder and smarter with fewer resources. They continue to ensure that our students receive a quality education and that we remain a top research university, generating more federal research funds than almost every other university in the country.

I am grateful that the members of the committee recognized these contributions and approved the modest salary adjustments that will prevent us from falling further behind our peers.”
