May 19, 2005

The Jan Wheaton Quintet takes the stage in an early June 16 concert for the Eighth Annual “Jazzin’ at Luther’s” to benefit the UW–Madison Campus Child Care Centers.

The concert is scheduled for 5:30-8:30 p.m. on that Thursday at Luther’s Blues, 1401 University Ave. Doors open at 5 p.m.; appetizers will be served and a cash bar will be available. Tickets are $25 each or table of four for $100.

A silent auction and raffle will award prizes donated by local businesses. For tickets or more information, contact Connie Wilson at (608) 263-5700.

Building strength in and around children is the work of the Office of Campus Child Care and Family Resources at UW–Madison. Eight locations on campus serve 500 children each week, and private funds allow for enhancements that raise the level of quality for all children.

Campus Child Care Centers provide care for children of UW students, staff and faculty. They also function as a training ground for student teachers, offering professional training for child care teachers and serve as research sites for child development studies.
