Oscar nominee follows unorthodox rescue of rare camel calf
“The Story of the Weeping Camel,” a Mongolian-made documentary film, recalls efforts to save an abandoned baby camel, a rare white one at that. The family enlists the help of a folk musician who plays a song to make the mother camel weep. Screening of this Oscar nominee is one of the Reel to Reel Cinema offerings of distinguished documentaries, this one co-sponsored with International Cinema. It is free and open to the public at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, in 109 Union South. For more information, contact 262-1143 or tjgerdes@wisc.edu.
